  • There is one creator God who is eternal, holy, wise, and just. He exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

  • God has revealed Himself in the Bible. The Old and New Testament were written by human authors, who were inspired by God. The Bible is fully reliable and is a living word, as God speaks through it to believers.

  • Men and women are created equally in God's image. We are created to love God. Because we have rebelled, and are sinners, we need God's forgiveness and to be reconciled to Him.

  • Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin by the Holy Spirit, and lived a sinless life. He taught with complete truth and authority. He died on a cross for our sins, taking our place, and bearing God's punishment. He was resurrected from the dead and ascended to heaven where he is Lord of all.

  • Salvation comes from the grace of God. It cannot be earned or deserved. It has been accomplished through Jesus, and is offered to all by the gospel. God forgives repenting sinners, who are justified and granted eternal life by faith alone.

  • The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus. He calls sinners to repent, and gives a true understanding of the Bible. He lives in all believers, gives an assurance of salvation, and makes us more like Christ. He builds up and equips the Church.

  • The Church is the body of Christ. It is a fellowship of believers who are committed to each other and to God. The Church exists for the preaching of the word, baptism, prayer, and for the Lord's supper; for pastoral care and discipline, and for evangelism.

  • Baptism and the Lord's supper are visible signs of the gospel. Baptism is a symbol of union with Jesus, and the emblems of the Lord's supper remember the 'once and for all' sacrifice he made.

  • Jesus will return in glory. He will judge the living and the dead justly. Repenting sinners will be welcomed into eternal fellowship with God, whereas the wicked will be lost. God will make all things new and will be glorified forever.

Sunday Services

  • Morning Service: We meet together as a church every Sunday morning at 10.30am. We worship God and enjoy fellowship together by singing, learning from the Bible, praying, and sharing communion. Half way through the service the children and youth break out into their own groups then rejoin everyone for tea, coffee, and refreshments at the end.

House Groups

  • House Groups: These are opportunities to grow in our faith in smaller groups, which we think is important in being able to ask questions, discuss, and be encouraged in a relaxed, informal setting. These occur twice a month mid-week, in homes around the city, and in the church building. Groups of about 8 meet, and go through some questions from part of the Bible. These are relaxed times, with tea and coffee, where the aim is to grow together, and encourage each other in our knowledge of the Bible, and what it means to live as Christians.

Children and Youth

  • Superkids: Every Sunday, children aged 3 and upwards leave part way through the service to learn more about Christian faith in fun and engaging ways.
  • Switch: Every Sunday, secondary school age. Discussion using the Bible about life, and the impact of following Jesus.

Community

  • Community Drop In Cafe: Every Thursday morning, 10:30am-12noon - all welcome!
  • Ladies Light Tea: Once a month on Fridays at 1.30pm.  For women of all ages - refreshments and discussion on the important things in life.
  • Community Craft Group: Weekly on Wednesday mornings 10am-12noon. A chance to try new and old crafts, drink coffee, and have a chat.
  • Young At Heart: An informal social group for the over 50's on Mondays from 1.30-3.30pm.

Other Activities

  • There are various activities and events to help us get to know and value each other more, share wisdom for life, and enjoy each others company. These are advertised as they arise.

Welcome to our church in Exeter!

The church is made up of people of all different backgrounds, and ages, and we love to gather to worship Jesus together and make him known.

We are committed to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ, as taught in the Bible, which we really do believe is the only hope for our world. We "love God, and love our neighbours" as Jesus commanded, so we gather each Sunday to give thanks to God in worship, and we have lots of activities going on to serve the local community, and share life together. We love to meet for meals and occasions to get to know each other better. Everyone in the church is valued, and there are lots of opportunities to get involved.

We build each other up in our understanding of the Bible, we encourage one another, we help one another practically, and we support one another in times of need.

If you would like to know more then please get in touch - or even better - you are very welcome to come along to church on a Sunday at 10.30am.
